 ABOUT JIM CHAPLIN AND THIS SITE

Jim's photo with OzzyJim Chaplin has a long history of community involvement.
He is experienced in fundraising for community organizations and has served as president or chairman on many organizations from youth groups to community school associations, ratepayers groups and on boards of directors, such as Community Care and a Conservation Authority; serving groups from youth to seniors.
He was founder of a community newspaper, was a columnist for a Peterborough, Ontario based magazine and for a Peterborough daily newspaper.    He has also been a freelance journalist since the late 1970’s and was a member of the Cavan Monaghan municipal council from December 2006 to November 2014.

A graduate of communication arts from Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario and International Travel Agent from Ryerson in Toronto, through McGill University in Montreal, he was a representative of a Toronto based travel agency for a couple of years.

He worked for 33.5 years at General Motors where he held many positions, including facilitator in the training department, inspection and quality audit.

He was a free lance DJ for over 50 years and was an employee of the Oshawa radio station for three years while attending college.  In addition he ran a successful family business for fourteen and a half years, which was sold in 2002.

This site will offer seminars in Effective Meeting Management and fundraising, primarily for small organizations, as well as some small business services and consulting.  It will also provide travel articles and travel information as well as links to other travel and recreational sites and other personal and organisational seminars.

Presentations may also be available on various travel destinations.
